Mountains are Pegs/ Nails of Earth

“Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, and the mountains as nails/stakes?” [Holy-Qur’an 78:6-7]

“And We have set on the earth mountains standing firm so that it does not shake with them.” [Holy-Qur’an 21:31]

Discovery: 
                    After long 1300+ years,

In 1948, the Geologist Van Anglin stated in his book ‘Geomorphology’: there is a root for each mountain below the crust of the earth and the function of mountains on the earth is to fasten the crust of the earth.

And this fact was proven by the principle of ‘hydrostatic balance of the earth’ as illustrated by the US Geologist Dutton, in 1889.

The Creation of Earth

"Do the Unbelievers not see that the skies and the earth were joined together, then I split them apart. And We made every living thing from water. Will they still not believe " [Al-Qu’ran 21:30]

Discovery:

                More than 13 centuries after arrival of Holy Qur’an..……

Big Bang theory came in 1949 (Fred Hoyle coined the term) and is saying the same thing as Qur’an had already said.

The Sky has Seven Layers

“See ye not how Allah has created the seven skies one above another, “And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp?” [Al-Qur’an 71:15-16]

Discovery:

It is a great miracle that these facts, which could not possibly be discovered without the technology of the 20th century, were explicitly stated by the Qur'an 1,400 years ago.

Now technology is telling there are 7 layers for our atmosphere. They are:

1. Troposphere
2. Stratosphere
3. Ozonosphere
4. Mesosphere
5. Thermosphere
6. Ionosphere
7. Exosphere

The Universe is Expanding

“And after that, He spread the earth.” [Al-Qur’an 79:30]

“With power and skill did We construct the Firmament: For it is We Who create the vastness of Space.” [Al-Qur’an 51:47]

Discovery:

        After 13 centuries……

In 1925, American astronomer Edwin Hubble, provided observational evidence that all galaxies are moving away from one another, which implies that the universe is expanding.

Darkness in Depths of Ocean

“Or (the Unbelievers’ state) is like the depths of darkness in a vast deep ocean, overwhelmed with billow topped by billow, topped by (dark) clouds: depths of darkness, one above another: if a man stretches out his hand, he can hardly see it! For any to whom Allah giveth not light, there is no light!” [Al-Qur’an 24:40]

Explanation:

There is darkness in the depths of the ocean.

Discovery:

Prof. Rao said that scientists have only now been able to confirm, with the help of modern equipment, that there is darkness in the depths of the ocean. Humans are unable to dive unaided underwater for more than 20 to 30 metres, and cannot survive in the deep oceanic regions at a depth of more than 200 metres.

Shape of the Earth is Not Flat

“He created the heavens and earth in true (proportions). He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. Unquestionably, He is the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver.” [Al-Qur’an 39:5]

Explanation:

The use of the word merges/wraps emphasizes a slow gradual change, and this is not possible if the earth is flat.

Discovery:

      After more than 10 centuries…..

Sir Francis Drake was the first person who proved that the earth is not flat when he sailed around it in 1577.

Foetus is protected by Three veils of darkness

“He makes you, in the wombs of your mothers, in stages, one after another, in three veils of darkness.” [Al-Qur’an 39:6]

Discovery:

      After more than 13 centuries….

According to Prof. Keith Moore, there are three veils of darkness:

(i) Anterior abdominal wall of the mother.

(ii) The uterine wall.

(iii) The amnio-chorionic membrane.
